Description
13 items of correspondence between Penguin, Geoffrey Hill and others, chiefly relating to permissions including Poems on the Underground, and the publication of poems and collections by Hill in Spanish, Czech and French. Includes:
- 1 ms letter from Aidan Nichols to Hill (3 October 1997) and 1 cc ms letter from Hill to Nichols (2 November 1997);
- 6 typescript letters (5 faxed) from Penguin to Hill (1 May 1998 - 10 November 2004), 1 cc typescript letter (faxed) from Hill to Penguin (1 May 1998); Penguin letter of 1 March 1998 accompanied by a copy of a from Judith Chernaik; Penguin letter of 29 September 1998 accompanied by a copy of a letter to Penguin from Tedi L?pez Mills, and has an ms copy of Hill's reply on the first page;
- 2 typescript letters from Jordi Doce to Hill (12 July 2004 - 21 September 2004);
- 1 cc ms letter from Hill to Cheyne Editeur (6 June 2005). The file also contains a a signed copy of a letter of agreement (3 November 2005) regarding the translation rights to Hill's work.
