13 items of correspondence relating to the publication of Geoffrey Hill's poems in anthologies published by Penguin. Includes:
- 3 typescript letters from Kenneth Allott to Geoffrey Hill (17 February 1961 - 28 February 1961) regarding a revised issue (i.e. the second edition) of The Penguin Book of Contemporary Verse;
- 6 typescript letters from Anthony Richardson (Penguin) to Hill (8 September 1964 - 16 June 1965) regarding Penguin Modern Poets VIII;
- 2 typescript letters from Francis Pagan/Pagan's secretary at André Deutsch publishers to Hill (3 February 1965 - 8 April 1965) regarding Penguin Modern Poets VIII;
- 1 typescript letter from Nicholas Jacobs (Penguin) to Hill and 1 typescript letter from James Wright (Penguin) to Hill regarding the 1966 reissue of The New Poetry (26 January 1966 - 17 June 1966);
- 1 ms letter from Edwin Brock to Hill [n.d.] written on the verso of a typescript letter to Brock from Penguin (11 May 1966).Also held in the file are a copy of the agreement between André Deutsch and Penguin regarding the publication of Hill's poems in Penguin Modern Poets VIII and a page proof (?) of the acknowledgments for Penguin Modern Poets VIII.
