Description
Includes accounts of several journeys undertaken by Joseph Wood including three to Skelmanthorp and two to York, also one to Kendal and another to Ulverston. The volume is bound in contemporary decorative paper showing a scene from the Gospel of Matthew. 'No. 4' is written in ink on the front cover. 1776-8 and 'Fells' is written in pencil on the front cover. The Fells were a prominent Quaker family who lived in Ulverston at Swarthmoor Hall.
