Bindings


Eighteenth- or nineteenth-century binding of stiff vellum over pasteboard. Gold-tooled between double fillets on a section of the smooth spine coloured brown is the name: Platina. Size: 220 x 157mm. Leaf size: 211 x 145mm.

Circular book stamp of Walter Ashburner on leaves [*]1r, a1r and i10v. Walter Ashburner (1864-1936), Professor of Jurisprudence at Oxford, was involved in the establishment of the British Institute in Florence.
