The compiler and scribe of the item, Haviv ben Ḥayim Ṭoledano inscribes his name in several colophons (see below Contents, and Scribal information); two of the colophons are dated; the first to the eve of Rosh ha-Shanah 440 (1679) (folio 29v) and the second, to 440 (1679 or 1680) (folio 37r); in addition he provides a date above the beginning of the novellae to Gittin which, if read as 18 Shevaṭ 43?6 (1676), contradicts Ḥaviv’s undated colophon on folio 38r, in which he states that he started to write the novellae to Gittin after he finished with the novellae to Ketubot (see below Contents) which he wrote in the year 410 (1679–1680) according to the two dated colophons.
