Scribe of the notebook:
According to Roth, "Catalogue", no. 59, the item and poems were "copied or composed by Joshua (Salvator) Fiametta, hazan in Ancona"; the name "Salvator Fiametta" is inscribed on folio 1.
Summary:
The first 60 and the last 13 leaves of the notebook-like item are inscribed; 51 leaves inbetween are blank.
Nearly all fly-leaves and some blank leaves at the beginning are inscribed with pen-trials and jottings which might be drafts for verses.
The notebook contains, among others:
Folios 3r–4r: Index (לוח המפתחות למצוא בפזמוני׳).
Folios 6r–7v: Prayers and hymns (עלה אלוקים בתרועה) for the blowing of the Shofar (תפלה לבעל תוקע) with instruction about the service on Rosh ha-Shanah and verses against the Satan (קר׳׳ע שט׳׳ן).
Folio 8r: Heading for a hymn by the rabbi of Ancona, Yosef ben Shelomoh Fiametta (d. 1721) to celebrate the finishing of the study of ʿEn Yiśraʾel (=En Yaʿaḳov, עין יעקב) (the hymn is not copied and the space below and the following leaf verso is empty): שיר זה חברו מרנא ורבנא המוהר׳׳ר מורי ורבי [יוסף] פיאמיטא זצוק׳׳ל … בישיבת מים חיים יר׳׳ה על תשלום עין ישראל....
Folio 9r: ידיד נפש אב [by Elʿazar ben Mosheh Aziḳri].
Folio 10v: בר יוחאי נמשחת [by Shimʿon Ibn Lavi (שמעון אבן לביא)].

State of text: Pest damage but rather well preserved; item underwent conservation work.

Binding
18th-century full leather over boards; blind-tooled decorations on both boards; gilt text block edges; item comes with beautiful 18th-century pull-off box, lined with decorated paper ('old Dutch marbled'), and covered with vellum with embossed multicoloured pattern in style of "Dutch gilt paper". Held now in modern custom-made box covered with brown cloth.

The scribe was possible Salvator Fiametta" (Fiammetta) who insribed his name on folio 1r.
