Rebound by conservation; dark brown full-leather over boards; original leather boards have been removed, and are held in a custom-made folder covered with brown cloth which is kept inside the same custom-made box (likewise covered) in which the manuscript is now held.


Binding waste; layers from upper and lower paste-board: 2 leaves from a Hebrew Bible? manuscript in later script; upper board’s leaf: Esther 1:16–2:3; 2:13–20; lower board’s leaf: Ester 5:9–6:3; 2 Chronicles 17:13–18:7 (the whole text is vocalised (Tiberian) and cantillated); the binding-waste has been removed from the original binding, repaired with tissue, and bound with the item by conservation.

Vocalisation and cantillation

All liturgical parts are vocalised (Babylonian).
